Psychologist (AES)
Job Overview:
Aveanna Education Services has openings for Full Time and Part Time School Psychologists.
The open positions are in a public-school setting working with students in grades K-12.
They act along with school counselors as advocates for students well-being, and as valuable resources for their educational and personal advancement.
The School Psychologist monitors the completion of case study evaluations and participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) conferences and problem-solving meetings designing systems, programs and services that maximize students social, emotional, and educational success.
In collaboration with staff, families, students, and communities the school psychologist promotes effective educational environments.
Job Duties:
Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results for students and participate in IEP conferences, and team meetingsContribute to program development that furthers the integration of social, coping, and problem-solving in the classroomAttend individual education planning and placement committee meetings when appropriate to participate in the determination of a handicapping conditionMonitor completion of case study evaluationsParticipate in building or program activities as neededJob Requirements:
Masters degree or Doctoral Degree in School PsychologyState required psychologist license and/or certificationPDE Certification under the state of Pennsylvania Knowledge of learning processes, appropriate instructional interventions to meet students needs, and the ability to implement and assess their effectivenessPossess good oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, problem solving, and consultation and collaboration skillsPhysical Requirements:
Visual acuity and hearing are required for the delivery of assessment, intervention, and consultation servicesOccasional lifting of materials and equipment of less than 25 poundsAbility to maintain emotional control under stressMust be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in a school settingEnvironment Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseasesOther Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
